EBMI2026 Reveals Preliminary Agenda: 180+ Industry Experts to Tackle Global Material Recovery Challenges at Messe Frankfurt

The powerhouse coalition of E-Waste World Expo, Battery Recycling Expo, Metal Recycling Expo and the ITAD & Circular Electronics Expo – collectively known as EBMI2026 – has officially unveiled its preliminary 2026 conference agenda.

Taking place from 17-18 June 2026 at Messe Frankfurt, this massive co-located event will feature over 180 industry-leading speakers across four specialised tracks. Designed to deliver technical solutions to the world’s most pressing material recovery challenges, the event remains entirely free-to-attend for both the high-level conference and the expansive expo floor, which hosts over 400 world-class solution providers.

Four Specialised Tracks. One Circular Vision.
The 2026 agenda is meticulously curated to provide deep-dive intelligence for every sector of the recycling and asset management value chain:

  1. E-Waste & WEEE Recycling

Focused on closing the loop for the world’s fastest-growing waste stream.

  • Day 1 Highlights: John Shegarian of ERI and Pascal Leroy of the WEEE Forum share their insights on the state of the industry; experts take a deep dive into how AI and Robotics is revolutionising e-waste recycling; and industry veterans provide a spotlight on the opportunities and developments taking place in Africa’s circular electronics ecosystem.
  • Day 2 Highlights: Strategic discussions from the European Commission, Recycling Europe, APPLiA and many more take on the latest developments and issues EU member states currently face in the circular economy; Jim Pucket of the Basel Action Network shares his thoughts on the Basel Convention Amendments after one year of being active; and the European Waste Management Association (FEAD) talks about navigating the upcoming WEEE Directive revisions and asks “where are we heading?”
  1. Battery Recycling

In a time where strengthening circularity in batteries for everyday applications and achieving sustainability goals is trending, sessions in the two days will explore the latest in black mass valorisation and ensuring compliance with the latest EU Battery Regulation to secure domestic secondary raw materials.

Industry veterans will also be providing state of industry talks with rich market outlooks from Fastmarkets, S&P Global and Bench Mark Materials. As wells an in-depth panel discussion on the upcoming battery passports from Orocon, BASF, Daimler Truck, Umicore and Siemens.

  1. Metal Recycling

This track will focus on the recovery of precious and base metals from industrial and consumer waste.

Recycling Europe hosts a session on the latest EU Aluminium Scrap export policies with experts from various parts of the metals sector and representatives from the European Commission.

The automotive industry voices its concerns, opportunities and thoughts on a panel discussion entirely dedicated to ELV with representatives from Renault Group and BMW Group taking to the stage. Critical Minerals: Strategies for enhancing the recovery of Critical Raw Materials (CRMs) to bolster European industrial resilience.

  1. ITAD & Circular Electronics

Bridging the gap between corporate asset disposition and the circular economy.

  • Design for Circularity: FIXIT SA hosts a knowledge-rich panel discussion on Eco-Design Principles: Integrating Sustainability from Product Development to End of Life.
  • Global Compliance: Experts from ADISA, EPS, Free ICT and many more discuss the latest regulations in terms of data sanitisation, right to repair and operating in different regions of the world as an ITAD.
  • AI: What does it mean for ITAD? How can ITAD businesses use it? How can it streamline operations of an ITAD business? All of this will be discussed between industry experts.

Unprecedented Access, Zero Cost
EBMI2026 is built on the principle of radical collaboration. By offering free registration to the entire conference programme and the exhibition hall, the event ensures that the 180+ experts on stage can connect directly with the thousands of professionals tasked with implementing these solutions.

“By co-locating these four vital sectors, we are breaking down the silos that hinder true circularity,” says the event organisers. “Whether you are managing a fleet of IT assets, refining precious metals, or engineering the next generation of EV battery recycling, the solutions you need are all under one roof at Messe Frankfurt.”
