Greyparrot Raised New Funding for AI Waste Intelligence Platform
According to the UK-based company, the money will scale Greyparrot’s AI waste intelligence platform to make secondary materials measurable, recoverable and investable worldwide. The investment would follow a significant milestone for its AI, which had detected more than one trillion waste objects.
The 27 million US-Dollar in Series B funding, led by technology investor Omar Mir, will help the company scale its technology to abate over one million tons of waste by 2030. “The funding comes as the waste and packaging sectors face growing pressure to improve recovery, demonstrate compliance and provide more reliable information on material flows,” the information said. “Greyparrot’s AI camera systems, known as Analyzers, are installed above sorting belts in recycling facilities across more than 20 countries. They identify materials, products and brands in real time, giving operators continuous data on the composition and movement of waste through their facilities.” The company’s customers include waste and recycling companies – for example WM, Circular Services, Veolia, Biffa and FCC – as well as brands wanting to understand how packaging performs after disposal. This also applies to consumer goods companies including Unilever, L’Oréal and Kenvue. They use Greyparrot’s Deepnest platform “to inform redesign, compliance and exposure to fees under Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes and the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)”. The same verified data would be beneficial for regulators, national waste audits and statutory reporting. “In a UK first, the Environment Agency accepted Greyparrot AI-derived waste composition data for statutory compliance reporting in Q1 2026, in submissions from customers Biffa and FCC,” the AI waste intelligence company gave account.
