British Company with New Distributor in Jordan

UK-based Symphony Environmental Technologies Plc – a company, which has developed oxo-biodegradable plastics – has announced a new distributor in Jordan.

EVA Plastic Industries, an affiliated company to the Sughayer Group, specialized in supplying raw materials and additives to the plastics industry in Jordan, Iraq, the Palestinian Authority and Ethiopia. According to the information, EVA is licensed to supply Symphony’s “d2w” oxo-biodegradable masterbatches in Jordan and joins the company’s network of distributors in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Lebanon and Egypt. The EVA launch in 2018 was supported by the Jordanian Ministry of Environment.

Jordan has made waste-management and protection of the marine environment a national priority, passing legislation to ensure that single-use plastic bags are made with oxo-biodegradable technology, Symphony gave account. The Jordanians create more than two million tons of waste, of which 17.5 percent is plastic. As reported, 12 countries of the Middle East now have a law requiring plastics to be oxo-biodegradable. These nations “do not want to ban plastic, which is essential for everyday living, but they do not want to leave it as a problem for future generations”.
