India: First Plant for Treatment of C&D Waste

In October last year, in India, the first recycling plant for construction and demolition waste was launched. The company Ramky Enviro Engineers Limited, together with the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority, inaugurated the facility, which is located at sector-80, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, under a public-private partnership basis. As Indian media informed, it can recycle up to 300 tons of waste per day, including the collection, transportation, processing and management of construction and demolition waste.

According to a recent study, India manages to recover and recycle only about one percent of its construction and demolition waste. Ramky Enviro Engineers Limited intends to launch similar plants across the country, the media announced.
