Vietnam: Waste Management Market to Grow

The market research firm IMARC estimates that the Vietnam waste management market will reach 12.9 billion US-Dollar by 2034, exhibiting a growth rate (CAGR) of 6.60 percent during 2026-2034. In 2025, this sector was valued at 7.2 billion US-Dollar. “The rising shift toward sustainable construction practices, escalating waste volumes, increasing international pressure to meet environmental goals, and the integration of smart technology solutions for waste collection represent some of the key factors driving the market,” the multinational company stated.

According to the information, Vietnam’s market is experiencing significant growth driven by the increasing waste generation due to rapid urbanization and industrialization. Moreover, stricter waste management regulations and policies, driven by the Vietnamese government’s active promotion of environmental sustainability, are expected to positively influence market growth. “Apart from this, the heightened awareness among the population about the importance of proper waste disposal and recycling has catalyzed market growth. Additionally, extensive investments in the waste management sector due to increasing emphasis on circular economy practices, including waste-to-energy initiatives, represent another major growth-inducing factor.” This enumeration does not cover all the reasons identified: The rising corporate social responsibility initiatives have also augmented the demand for eco-friendly waste management practices. “Along with this, the rapid expansion of the tourism industry and the escalating need for sustainable waste disposal solutions are propelling market growth”.

Moreover, there are international collaborations and investments in waste management infrastructure and technologies, which are contributing to market growth, as well as favorable government incentives and subsidies encouraging private sector participation, escalating waste volumes and the need for efficient disposal methods.
