Eco Expo Asia Opens Next Week with Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus as Key Highlight

As part of the show’s overall focus on “Green Innovations for Carbon Neutrality”, hydrogen technologies will be highlighted throughout next week’s Eco Expo Asia, including a hydrogen fuel cell bus on display to the public. The fair will take place from 14 – 17 December at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, with the last day (17 December) open to the public. In addition, online services will run until 24 December.

Eco Expo Asia will once again provide a platform for a variety of industries, including smart technologies, energy saving and green buildings, net-zero energy generation, green finance and ESG, waste reduction, green transportation and more. Around 220 exhibitors from diverse countries and regions including Canada, Mainland China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Sweden and Taiwan are taking part this year. Pavilions from Japan and Canada plus an assortment of thematic zones will also be present.

One area highlighted at this year’s edition is hydrogen power, of which several high-profile exhibitors will be present. Wisdom Motors (HK) Limited will display its double-decker electric and single-decker hydrogen fuel cell buses at the green transportation zone. The hydrogen bus is part of an initiative to replace the entire fleet operated in Hong Kong by Citybus and New World First Bus with zero-emission models.[1] These two bus operators are also planning to build the city’s first hydrogen refuelling station in West Kowloon early next year.[2]

In the Japan pavilion, which is quadrupling in size this year, Toyota Tsusho HK, the trading arm of the Toyota Group, will showcase its clean and renewable power generation technology, including hydrogen power. The firm recently signed an agreement with the Egyptian government to study the feasibility of producing blue ammonia through carbon capture and storage in the country,[3] and has also been doing work in green hydrogen research in Kenya.[4] Other exhibitors showcasing their latest hydrogen technologies and solutions include CIMC Enric Holdings Limited and Hong Kong Association of Energy Service Companies Limited, among others.

The 3rd Hydrogen Economy Forum
